چکیده

Turbulent Flow in wetlands with submerged and floating aquatic plants was studied by applying Boit’s poroelastic theory to turbulent flow. The velocity distribution formulas were described by solving the modified Bessel equations. The effects of plant porosity and turbulent coefficient on the velocity distribution, shear stress distribution and energy relations were analytically derived. Several illustrative cases were given to show the details of the applications. The results of the study can help water resources, environmental and ecological engineers design and manage surface water flows in natural and constructed wetlands.

Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment: A Review

The first experiments on the use of wetland plants to treat wastewaters were carried out in the early 1950s by Dr. Käthe Seidel in Germany. The first full scale systems were put in operation during the late 1960s and since then constructed wetland systems have been spreading throughout the world. At present, there are several types of constructed wetlands used for wastewater treatment. Free wat...

Large-eddy simulation of turbulent flow over an array of wall-mounted cubes submerged in an emulated atmospheric boundary-layer

Turbulent flow over an array of wall-mounted cubic obstacles has been numerically investigated using large-eddy simulation. The simulations have been performed using high-performance computations with local cluster systems. The array of cubes are fully submerged in a simulated deep rough-wall atmospheric boundary-layer with high turbulence intensity characteristics of environmental turbulent fl...

بررسی عوامل موثر بر پوشش گیاهی در رویشگاه های آبی و مرطوب پارک ملی بوجاق، کیاشهر، استان گیلان

Boujagh National Park, with water ecosystems including Boujagh and Kiashahr wetlands, has an area of approximately 3477.3 hectares. In order to study factors affecting the vegetation in aquatic and wet habitats, 44 releves were implemented in the region. To test the chemical properties of the available water, samples were collected from 22 releves. The results of a two-way species indicator ana...
